RENT

Presented by Cornerstone Creative Arts
Book, Music & Lyrics by Jonathan Larson

NO DAY BUT TODAY.

Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical RENT comes to Petersburg in Cornerstone Creative Arts’ inaugural theatrical production.

Set in New York City’s East Village, RENT follows a group of young artists as they navigate love, loss, friendship, identity, creativity, and survival during the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis. With an unforgettable rock score and a story inspired by La Bohème, RENT is a powerful celebration of chosen family, community, and making the most of the time we are given.

For Cornerstone, this production is also an opportunity to bring theatre into conversation with our own community—connecting the themes of RENT with education, local partnerships, resources, and meaningful dialogue.

Created by local and regional performers, musicians, designers, technicians, artists, volunteers, and community partners, this is more than a production.

It’s RENT — Produced by Petersburg.
